Edwardian Press is pleased to announce it’s first reclaimed (off-copyright) novel to be published in a newly edited paperback edition with a new foreword by author Edward Parr.

What was the Edwardian Press ? Newspapers and magazines during the Edwardian period adopted a more informal and personal style of writing compared to the Victorian era. This “middlebrow” style, characterized by shorter, chattier writing, appeared in various sections including reviews of theatre, books, politics, and sports. Edwardian newspapers also featured a mix of local news, reviews, and fiction, contributing to the era’s unique literary landscape. These qualities became the hallmarks of the “Edwardian” era press.
